SeaWorld Orlando Welcomes 12 Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtles
SeaWorld Orlando, one of the nation’s largest marine rescue organizations, has welcomed 12 cold-stunned Kemp’s ridley sea turtles, the most endangered sea turtle species, for rehabilitation. Rescued after a rapid drop in water temperature, the turtles are now receiving expert, around-the-clock care to support their recovery and eventual return to the wild. This multi-state, multi-organization effort included the transport of 33 sea turtles from Massachusetts to Georgia and Florida, made possible by partnerships with the New England Aquarium, the National Marine Life Center, and Turtles Fly Too. SeaWorld is honored to contribute to this critical conservation mission.
