Behind the Scenes: Winter Animal Care at SeaWorld
While the holidays bring cooler weather to Orlando, the expert Animal Care Team at SeaWorld is busy making sure every species is comfortable through the winter months. For cold-adapted animals like penguins, seals, and beluga whales, habitats are carefully temperature-controlled to mimic their icy natural environments—even when it’s 70° outside! For others, like manatees in rehabilitation, the team provides specialized care to protect them from the dangers of cold stress by monitoring water temperatures, adjusting diets, and offering extra health checks.
Whether it’s maintaining snowy conditions in Antarctica, or ensuring rescued wildlife has a safe place to recover, winter at SeaWorld means a season full of behind-the-scenes care. Platinum Monthly Double your Discount on Food and Beverages: New and current Platinum Pass Members are eligible to receive one double discount (20% off) purchase per month for food or beverages at one park of membership. Not valid at waterparks. Platinum Pass Members scan your Pass at a self-service kiosk at the park to print your voucher. Take the voucher to a restaurant to redeem for your discount. The voucher is only valid on day it is printed. Ambassador will collect and scan the voucher and ring up the culinary order on the register also applying the regular Platinum Pass Member discount.
