If you're looking for a great idea for an outing with friends, you've gotta check out Magical Dining, a program exclusive to central Florida. The Visit Orlando group coordinates this month long celebration of food and fun where some of the hottest, hippest, and unique restaurants get together and create special prefix menus for guests to experience the culinary offerings at each restaurant for an affordable price. This year, for $35 per person plus tip you can get into some of the most exclusive and exciting restaurants, including Sharks Underwater Grill at SeaWorld.
I recently had the chance to get a sneak peek and preview the menu they are working on for this year’s Magical Dining program. Not only was I able to sit in the company of some of the coolest sharks in the world, I was able to sample some of the best tasting fine dining food I have had since moving to Orlando. While sand tigers sharks, nurse sharks and grouper were all patrolling the perimeter of the restaurant, I sampled and enjoyed an appetizer, main course, and dessert from a menu ranging from lobster bisque to seafood pasta and even filet mignon. My favorite course was dessert. I had the fresh Florida key lime pie, take my word for it - that pie is delicious.
Throughout my dining experience I was treated to the best views, best food, and best service to be had in the theme park. After the dinner, I was also able to stay in the park for about an hour until the park closed. I was able to ride Mako, the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in Orlando, and then I got to see One Ocean, the killer whale show at Shamu Stadium. Then, with Electric Ocean taking place during the summer, I got a chance to see the spectacular fireworks finale, Ignite. It was an unforgettable night of food, fun, and fins!
