Mother's Day Ideas
As a mother, my family asks me every year what I want for Mother's Day. I prefer experiences that we can treasure, but as my family’s Chief Planning Officer, I want the day off. I will, however, provide hints to the family like casually leaving my computer screen open to the Mother's Day Brunch at Dine with Shamu or a more intimate dinner at Sharks Underwater Grill. My husband can easily make the reservations online.
If you've never experienced Dine with Shamu, it's one to not be missed. You can dine right next to the orcas. You learn about their behaviors and communication between the pod and with their trainers. My whole family gets so mesmerized by these beautiful animals that I do have to remind them to eat. Not to mention that the food is wonderful and it's buffet style so there's something for everyone - even the pickiest eaters in your clan.
If you are looking for a more upscale dining experience, Sharks Underwater Grill should be on your list. This hidden gem is nestled back by Shark Encounter and actually gives you a look into the world of many different shark species. The award winning restaurant serves amazing sustainable entrées. The filet is my favorite, but my husband swears by the Ahi Tuna. My son loves the kid’s meals too including the special dessert!
Plus, this Saturday and Sunday are the final days of the Seven Seas Food Festival. You and your family can pick up a Food & Brew Sampling Lanyard and taste your way around the park with a huge variety of food, wine, beer and other treats.
Not only do all these options provide memorable experiences, but there is no clean up required. That makes for one happy momma!
