Meet Pestilence: The Rot That Never Left

There are few forces as patient…or dangerous…as Pestilence. Long before she became synonymous with decay, infection and the slow corruption of everything around her, she was simply a woman caught up in a life of chaos. Her story begins not with the creation of a monster, but with a relationship that would ultimately shape everything she became.

Pestilence was once deeply connected to Havoc. The two traveled together during the early days of his rise, balancing each other in ways that made them formidable. Havoc was driven by destruction and ambition, while Pestilence was calculated and patient. Their relationship was built on more than a shared appetite for mayhem; there was genuine affection between them. But when the Siren's call faded, Havoc seized the opportunity and chose to leave her behind and move forward without her, eventually escaping and cementing his reign over Howl-O-Scream Orlando.

Pestilence, however, never truly moved on. Rather than pursue him, she disappeared into the shadows, allowing time to shape what came next.

From Heartbreak to Infection


Pestilence's transformation began in Nekrosis, a forgotten fishing town seemingly trapped at the end of the 20th century. Stuck in 1999, the town became a strange place where time, memory and reality began to break down.

This was where Pestilence discovered the true extent of her power.

Rather than destroying Nekrosis outright, she allowed its existing decay to become something more sinister. Forgotten memories, outdated technology and remnants of the past became conduits for her infection. The town's inhabitants became trapped in a cycle they could not escape, while the very things that once represented familiarity and nostalgia became sources of terror.

Nekrosis ultimately became more than a place touched by Pestilence. It became proof of what she could create when given the time to let her influence spread. Her infection wasn't simply physical. It could take root in memories, emotions and remnants of the past, allowing it to travel far beyond the boundaries of a single town.

And Pestilence had only just begun.

The Spread of the Rot


After Nekrosis, Pestilence's story continued to grow alongside the legend of Havoc. While he built his empire, she remained patient, allowing the passage of time to work in her favor. Her obsession was no longer simply about what Havoc had done to her. It had become something larger. A desire to make him face the consequences of everything he had left behind.

That brings Pestilence to Howl-O-Scream Orlando.

This year, she emerges from the shadows with the infection she has spent time cultivating. Guests entering the event will encounter a world shaped by her particular brand of corruption, a place where decay spreads slowly, memories become dangerous and nothing remains untouched for long.

Guests will enter Howl-O-Scream Orlando through Nekrosis and become unwilling hosts, bringing the infection with them as they travel throughout the event. But spreading her rot isn't Pestilence's ultimate goal. All roads lead to Throttle.

The man who once left her behind may have believed that enough distance, enough time and enough power could put the past behind him. He is about to proven otherwise.

Pestilence has waited long enough. Now, the rot is spreading across Howl-O-Scream Orlando with the help of unsuspecting guests. And eventually, it will find Havoc.
