SeaWorld Orlando's Vital Role in Manatee Conservation: A Collaborative Rescue Effort
In a collaborative effort led by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Manatee Rescue & Rehabilitation Partnership (MRP) successfully transported three manatees from Miami Seaquarium to SeaWorld Orlando and ZooTampa at Lowry Park. Romeo and Juliet, a pair over 65 years old, now find temporary refuge at ZooTampa, while SeaWorld Orlando has assumed the care of Clarity, an adult female manatee rescued in 2009 due to watercraft-related injuries. Under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Clarity will reside at SeaWorld Orlando as MRP experts review her case for optimal placement. This joint initiative underscores SeaWorld Orlando's unwavering commitment to manatee conservation, collaborating with the MRP in rescue, rehabilitation, research, and education efforts. We thank you Pass Members for supporting SeaWorld Orlando and our dedicated rescue and conservation initiatives, ensuring the well-being of these remarkable marine mammals.
