SeaWorld Orlando Rescue Team and Partners Return Manatee
This is a story that’s sure to warm your heart! This week, the SeaWorld Orlando Rescue Team – alongside partners at MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and others – returned female manatee Panettone to Anchorage Park in North Pal Beach. Panettone’s story is a special one, as she was he thinnest manatee to be rescued in Southeast Florida this year. In March 2022, Panettone came to us severely emaciated, having lost 48% of her body weight due to the effects of the ongoing UME. After months of intensive rehab, this gentle giant finally reached a healthy weight and is back in her native waters. We’re so proud of Panettone’s progress and are cheering her on from afar.
