Seven Seas Food Festival Churrasco Recipe

May 2, 2017
Bring the flavors of the Seven Seas Food Festival to your own home with this Churrasco recipe.

At the Seven Seas Food Festival, one of my favorite dishes is the Churrasco, found at the Brazilian Market.  This steak dish features the spice of chorizo, the zing of delicious garbanzo beans and the garden-fresh fragrance of Chimichurri.  #Yum

If you're interested in making this dish at home, you'll need the following ingredients and several hours of marinating time.

Churrasco Recipe from the Seven Seas Festival at SeaWorld Orlando

Serves 4 (Overnight preparation required)

Chimichurri Sauce

1 cup chopped cilantro

1/2 cup chopped parsley

1/2 cup of olive oil

1/4 cup fresh chopped garlic

1 teaspoon oregano

1/2 diced jalapeno pepper

Combine all ingredients in a bowl.  Cover and refrigerate.

Churrasco Steak

1 lb skirt steak

2 tablespoons prepared Chimichurri Sauce

Slice steak into 4 equal portions.  Spread Chimichurri Sauce onto steaks.  Cover and marinate overnight.

Garbanzo Frito

1 lb garbanzo beans

1/2 cup diced chorizo sausage

1/2 cup diced ham

1/2 cup diced yellow onion

1 tablespoon dry oregano

1 tablespoon olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

Combine ingredients in a large sauce pan, adding salt and pepper as needed.  Sautee until the onions become transparent.

Grill steak over high heat for 3 minutes each side.  Season with salt to taste.  Plate each steak with a 1/2 cup portion of the garbanzo mix with previously prepared Chimichurri Sauce.
