‘SHARK-tastic’ Reasons to Visit SeaWorld Orlando:

Reason #1: SeaWorld Orlando Now Caring for 2 Great Hammerhead Sharks
Hammerhead shark
This is a special and exciting time for our Shark Encounter as we welcome 2 New Great Hammerhead Sharks, Dutch and Dillon. Both sharks were transferred to SeaWorld from the Georgia Aquarium as part of a collaborative shark conservation program. Great hammerhead sharks are critically endangered with an estimated population decline of up to 80%; preserving the species in human care is vital to conservation. Dutch and Dillon are joining Smalltooth Sawfish, another critically endangered species, along with 5 other shark species, rays and fish on display in the 700,000-gallon aquarium at our Shark Encounter. Don’t miss an opportunity to see these endangered species up-close from our Shark Encounter: one of the World’s largest underwater viewing tunnels.

Reason #2: A Visit to SeaWorld Helps Save Species

SeaWorld is committed to educating and inspiring the next generation of shark conservationists through its park experiences. It is also committed to shark conservation outside its parks through partnerships and the SeaWorld Conservation Fund that has donated more than $300,000 to shark research conservation projects.

Guests visiting the park can also play an important role in conservation. A portion of the proceeds from every visit goes directly toward rescue, rehabilitation, and marine animal conservation efforts. Guests can also donate in the park or online to the SeaWorld Conservation Fund that supports important third-party conservation research.

For more than 60 years SeaWorld has advanced the conservation of marine life in and outside its parks through science, education, and exceptional animal care that is Humane Certified by American Humane and accredited by the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. SeaWorld is one of the largest marine animal rescue organizations in the world, helping more than 40,000 animals to date. The SeaWorld Conservation Fund, a non-profit foundation established in 2003, has provided more than $20 million to nearly 1,400 organizations to advance critical research on every continent. A portion of park proceeds goes toward supporting these longstanding conservation commitments. SeaWorld parks are in Orlando, San Antonio, San Diego and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
