Hear about Claire’s Inspiring Journey
Claire Erlacher-Reid's journey into veterinary medicine began in childhood, inspired by Jacques Cousteau's adventures and family trips to zoos and aquariums. A visit to SeaWorld, where her parents gifted her a book about manatees, marked a turning point. Inspired by a quote within the book, she envisioned working at SeaWorld as her dream job, fostering a deep commitment to environmental conservation. In her role as a senior veterinarian at SeaWorld Parks, she oversees the health of over 28,000 animals and leads coral conservation efforts at the Florida Coral Rescue Center. A graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, Erlacher-Reid emphasizes the importance of education and credits mentors for her success. Her unique journey reflects a deep commitment to aquatic animal medicine and a passion for preserving marine life. Claire’s story is an example of SeaWorld’s mission to educate and inspire.
