California sea lions, harbor seals, northern elephant seals, and Guadalupe fur seals are frequently found along the coastlines of California and account for approximately 85% of the marine mammals rescued by SeaWorld San Diego. Seals and sea lions strand for a variety of reasons and many are less than 1-year old when rescued by SeaWorld. In 2015, SeaWorld rescued a record number of nearly 1,000 California sea lions.

Park admission is not included with your program reservation but is required. Due to the special nature of this program, space is limited and early reservations are recommended. Small groups will be combined to form a program group of about 8 guests. Please check-in at the Sea Lion and Otter Amphitheater 15 minutes prior to your reservation time. Reservation includes the Sea Lion Encounter program on day and time of your reservation only. Park admission is not included with your program reservation but is required. Overall program lasts 15 minutes and is subject to change. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult. No loose jewelry, sunglasses or smoking is permitted during the program. Dates, program, prices and event offerings are subject to change without notice. All events are subject to change and/or cancellation due to animal availability. Events are not cancelled due to inclement weather; programs will still be offered except in the event of lightning. Cancellation Policy: cancellations 48 hours before your reservation will result in a full refund; cancellations within 48 hours of your reservation will not be refunded.
