Sea lions at SeaWorld San Diego's Sea Lion Point

Sea Lions

You'll know you're close to Sea Lion Point when you hear the chatter of these social sea lions and seals.

California sea lions, harbor seals, northern elephant seals, and Guadalupe fur seals are frequently found along the coastlines of California and account for approximately 85% of the marine mammals rescued by SeaWorld San Diego. Seals and sea lions strand for a variety of reasons and many are less than 1-year old when rescued by SeaWorld. In 2015, SeaWorld rescued a record number of nearly 1,000 California sea lions.

Due to current construction at our Sea Lion and Otter Stadium, the location for the Sea Lion Encounter program is not accessible to guests who are strictly confined to a wheelchair.  We apologize for this temporary inconvenience.
