5 Tips for Parents at SpooktacularSeptember 18, 2017
As a mom of two little girls, our family loves visiting SeaWorld during their Halloween Spooktacular event. We’ve learned a few tricks during our visits that we’d like to share with you to make your visit extra special and hassle-free.
- Purchase reserved seats to Sesame Street’s Countdown to Halloween show.
This is a very popular seasonal show with The Count, Elmo, Abby and the rest of the Sesame Street friends. Having reserved seats allows you to walk in 15 minutes before the show starts without having to wait outside the theater in line to get a seat and giving you less time to keep the kids entertained before the show starts. That’s as easy as 1-2-3!
- Join the fun with a Spooky Game Pass.
New this year, the game pass allows your kids to play 5 games for the price of 4. Choose from favorites like Disc Drop, Pick-a-Duck, Pick-A-Pop and more. Plus, each game guarantees a prize – so no tears here!
- Do your Trick-or-Treating as early as possible.
If your kids are anything like mine, they are super excited to wear their costumes to the park. However, I find they quickly start shedding those cute costumes piece by piece. If you visit the multiple candy stations along Bayside Pathway early, you can also take a moment to stop and take photos with the characters while your kids are still in full costume and before the sugar rush wears off.
- Don’t miss the Pets Ahoy show.
This is one of my girls’ favorite shows and the special Halloween version keeps us laughing the whole way through. The show has dogs and cats, ducks and doves, potbellied pigs and a few surprise animal guest stars that make this a must see show.
- Choose to party early or late.
If you are visiting early in the day make sure to stop by Penelope’s Garden Party on the Bayside Pathway. It is complete with a live DJ, a variety of craft opportunities, bubbles and colorful sea-themed characters including a mermaid. If you plan to come a little later in the day, be sure to stay for the Halloween Dance Party at the front of the park in Village Square one hour before the park closes. My girls loved dancing with Princess Penelope, popping the clouds of bubbles all around, and it was a fun way to end our Spooktacular day.
